This term Y3 are developing their gymnastic skills. They have worked hard to develop forward rolls, backward rolls, cartwheels and balances. They particularly enjoyed using the climbing frames.
In Y3 we are finding out about Hinduism. It is very interesting and we have created a Hindu display in our classroom.
Today we had an unusual day. We visited the park to help us with our creative writing. After that we created our own shops to help us practise handling money and giving change. We had a lot of fun.
Over the last half term Y3 have been working with two artists to explore our local area. They have worked in several mediums and have achieved a part of the Arts Mark.
This week in maths Y3 having been tackling a range of problems connected to number and measures. On Friday we used the ipads to work collaboratively to answer questions and talk about the maths we were doing.
Marine Park have been part of the Tree Council’s 40th National Tree Week.We received a grant to enable us to plant an orchard of fruit trees on the school grounds. This will not only bring us fruit in the next few years but also support our science curriculum. Year 3 were the first class to plant some of the trees with the help of parents and the wider community of Marine Park.
In computing we have been looking at combining text and graphics to make a celebration card. We explored fonts, letter size and the use of colour. After that we looked at finding images we could use on our cards. We created a document which we printed out and used to make our cards.
