Year 2

We have been learning to apply food preparation skills in Design Technology. We gathered the ingredients for a simple recipe, cut and juiced fruits. Some of the children enjoyed their smoothies more than others.

In Design Technology we have been learning about chopping and juicing safely. We know that we hold the fruit with a fork to hold it while we cut. We really enjoyed drinking the orange juice and eating the strawberries and bananas delicious and healthy.

In Literacy we have been learning about Carnival. We made our own carnival headdresses and enjoyed dancing to carnival music.

We have been learning about undersea creatures with our friends from Chichester Court. We named marine animals, identified what they eat and how they move all while singing and dancing together. We all loved it when the bubbles appeared.

We have been learning about plants in Year1. We sketched plants in our school grounds. We then observed and classified them as wild plants or garden plants.

We have been learning about plants. We enjoyed identifying plants in the school grounds.We had a plant hunt and searched for a plant in a strange place, with a flower, with a tree trunk, with many leaves, which smells and which was taller than we were. We were very observant and managed to find the plants.

We have been learning about planting and growing. We planted beans. We know that plants need soil, water and light to grow.
