We have been learning about Owls at the library. We really enjoyed our story. Next we coloured pictures of owls. Finally we completed a tricky word search.
We have been learning what amazing readers we are. Our librarian Suzanne put out a selection of books and we were delighted to find we could read them by ourselves. We also made bookmarks to keep our place while we are reading.
We learned all about playing cricket at the Cricket Festival. We had a chance to practise skills such as bowling, batting, fielding, hand-eye co-ordination and wicket keeping. We all had a great time. Cricket is certainly a lot of fun.
We have been learning about magnetic coins. We sorted our coins into magnetic copper, non-magnetic copper, magnetic silver, non-magnetic silver. We found out old copper and silver coins were not magnetic.
We have been learning about number bonds within 20. We all worked really hard to find patterns in numbers bonds. We worked together, sharing ideas and were soon able to identify all number bonds within 12.
We have been learning about our emotions in “Everyone Feels” workshops. Within these sessions children are introduced to strategies to support different emotions such as Worry,
Anger, Happiness and Sadness as well as understanding how these emotions may present.
We have been learning about oracy in English and it was wonderful to see how actors from a theatre company can project their voices. We really enjoyed their performance of one of our favourite books “Kitchen Disco” by Clare Foges. We made fruit and vegetable party hats, we danced together and we had the most amazing time.
We have been learning about our 5 senses. This week we have been looking closely at our sense of smell. We had to use only our sense of smell to identify six mystery items. We were able to describe the smells. We agreed we certainly preferred some smells to others.
