Year 4 have been hard at work creating their own stamps and using them to create their own printed fabric. Here are some of our designs.
We have been learning about the work of Max Ernst, who used different textures and combined them to make distinctive artwork.
Children then searched for different textures in the room to use in their shading, and then used a mixture of ripping and cutting to create their texture pictures.
Year 4 have begun their art and design lessons and are learning how to change tone and perspective. Here we are creating our own pieces of art using the techniques we learnt to create light and dark.
Year 4 have been finishing our Free School Meals Campaign with Pip. We completed filming today. We tried a few different ways to film and can’t wait to see the finished video.
This week, we have been learning to create abstract sculptures, inspired by the work of Sir Anthony Caro and other famous artists.
Children had to design and create their artwork using a mixture folding, slotting as well as making tabs in order to create an abstract 3D work of art that made interesting use of positive and negative space.
Next week, Y2 will be making collages of our local landmarks. Today, they prepared their textured paper by mixing colours and using a variety of tools to print.
This afternoon, Y3 created their own artwork using frottage, a technique involving shading, rubbing and shaping materials with out hands. Children studied other frottage works by artist Max Ernst and then produced their own pieces using the same techniques.
